In case you reach Mersing late say at 4-5pm and there aren't anymore boats to Tioman, you can stay 1 night in Mersing's hotel called Hotel Seri Malaysia (rates at RM$90 per room per night). WebIf you do want to travel by bus from Penang to Tioman (a distance of around 715 km), you will first have to take a bus from Penang to TBS Bus Terminal in Kuala Lumpur (around 5 hours), then change buses there for a service to Mersing or Tanjung Gemok (4 1/2 to 5 hours).
